For her first EP on Detroit Underground, Portland’s SciFiSol emerges from her experimental realm and flies into the deeper, darker, weirder fringes of techno.

The title tune, “Experimental Drawingboard”, underpins a four-to-the-floor kick and bass combo with offtime industrial metallic textures and a trickling dub feel well-suited for unlit dancefloors.

“Twist Her” crawls hypnotically, leaving the beat submerged under a snaking acid line, dirty percussion, and a vocal that lands it sonically somewhere in the middle between Plastikman and Nine Inch Nails.

“Screen Love” is all machine stomp and mad arpeggios let off the leash, driving a vocal chant that builds to a screaming crescendo.

Finally, “303X” sends us on a long road of shimmering textures and minimal beats, expanding into slowly evolving meditational vibes for inner space journeys.

For discerning travelers who prefer techno from the outer edges of the universe, SciFiSol is the pilot you want behind the controls.
